Bookings Policy

If you've reached this page, we want to thank you as you are either someone interested in booking a table with us or you already have a booking or event planned with us. Of course, we want to make sure you have the best possible experience with us, but we have a couple of terms and conditions that we recommend you read through to check there are no undesired surprises further down the line. 

  • We recommend making a booking to secure your table in our restaurant/bar. We do allow for walk-ins when we have spaces available, but at busy times we will turn people away when at capacity.

    If you're running late, we will hold your table for up to 15 minutes from your booking time, after which the team will release it and allocate it to other guests.

    For certain bookings, we will take a card authorization. In this instance, no money will be taken unless the booking is cancelled within the 24 hour notice period or if the booking doesn’t show up.

    We require 24 hours notice for a booking cancellation for parties of 8 or less. For tables of 8 or more, we need 48 hours notice.

    If a booking does not show up or cancels less than the notice period above, a fee of £10 per person is charged to the card authorised on the booking.

    We offer table service; however, we request you set up a bar tab with a credit or debit card behind the bar to ensure smooth service.

    If you'd like to pay as you go, we advise you to purchase your drinks at the bar.

    We are an over 18 venue and we check ID’s upon entrance. We reserve the right to refuse entry if you don't have any form of ID on you.

    Our dress code is smart casual and doesn't allow for any sportswear, hats or caps.

    We have a bag search upon entrance, and our team will confiscate any liquids if found.

    Our team reserve the right to refuse entry and service to intoxicated guests. In this circumstance, we can't offer any refund on pre-purchase drinks.

    We don’t offer any refunds if you don’t turn up for your booking on time.

    All our deposits and pre-payments are non-refundable. If you have paid a deposit to secure your area, this will be discounted from your bill at the end of the evening or used as a food/drink pre-order.

    If the venue were to close due to an unexpected reason on the date of your booking, we would move your booking to a different date.

    There will be an optional 12.5% service charge added to your bill.

  • To secure your booking for the Veranda, we will need you to commit to a minimum spend on the night of £1000.

    We do recommend that a drinks pre order is made to ensure a faster service on arrival. Please let us know if you would like us to send you our bottles menu or you can find our other food and drinks menus on our website. You and your guests are welcome to purchase individually on the day if you'd like, our team are able to track this for you on the day.

    To confirm your booking, we do need to authorise your debit/credit card for the full amount of the minimum spend. Your pre-authorised card WILL NOT be charged unless you cancel your booking within 5 days of your reservation.

    We need you to follow the link to confirm your booking. Unfortunately, we cannot take card details over the phone. No money is taken or held unless you violate the cancellation policy.

  • At Burlock to hire out the whole venue we do require you to commit to a minimum spend. We don't take any fee for venue hire, all we ask is for a minimum spend of £XXXX for the date you have selected.

    Exclusive hire of the whole venue are subject to the Exclusive Parties Terms and conditions.

    Provisional enquiries will be held for 7 days only. All exclusive parties must be confirmed in writing via email with our sales and/or management team complete with the requisite deposit payment (see below).

    Bookings will require 25% of the minimum spend, to secure your booking. Please let us know and we can send over a secure payment link to get this confirmed.

    A discretionary service charge may be proposed on the food and beverage spend at your event, this will not form part of any minimum spend and will be removed at your request.

    If you require a pre order, food and / or drinks pre orders will need to be finalised 1 week in advance of your booking. any food and drinks pre ordered must be paid in full. All pre-orders must be confirmed in writing along with any guest allergen requirements.

    For any remaining minimum spend we will need to just take a card authorisation in case this is not met on the day.

    All payments can be made using a secure payment link. A paid invoice can be generated once the payment has been made should you need one. No BACS payment are permitted unfortunately.

    Our maximum capacity at Burlock bar is 150 guests mixture of seating and standing. We are a basement venue and do not have wheelchair access unfortunately.

    We can provide you with one of our fantastic DJs for a small fee of £200 on top of the minimum spend, or alternatively you're welcome to organise your own music arrangements as long as you can please keep us informed.

    All payments can be made using a secure payment link. A paid invoice can be generated once the payment has been made should you need one. No BACS payment are permitted unfortunately.

    If the full balance is not received as required 2 weeks prior to your booking, your booking will automatically be cancelled, and the deposit will be retained.

    If exclusive bookings do not use all the agreed minimum spend any remaining balance will be retained and considered as hire fee. This cannot be used at another date.

    Cancellations

    For cancellations requested more than 28 days prior to the booking date, 100% of the deposit will be refunded. Cancellations between 28 and 14 day prior to the booking only 50% deposit will be refunded. If the cancellation is within 16 days of the booking date the deposit will be retained in full. Please note that the remaining deposit amount cannot be used as part payment for another event.

  • To go ahead and secure your reservation All group parties of 6+ guests for nonexclusive bookings at Burlock between 20th November and 24th December 2023 will require a minimum of £10 per head to confirm your booking.

    Please note, I will send the deposit link following this email. We do get booked up extremely fast over the festive season and space is available on a first come first served basis.

    Under no circumstance will any area requests be guaranteed, unless you have booked this specifically and have this confirmed in writing by a Manager.

    We will require full food and drinks pre orders 4 weeks in advance of your booking and all final payments 2 weeks prior to booking - All pre-orders must be confirmed in writing along with any guest allergen requirements. This is our busiest time of year, so we aim to make our service on the evening as smooth and efficient as possible. Pre ordering and prepaying makes all this a lot easier for everyone on the evening!

    If any additional balance is not received as required 2 weeks prior to your booking your booking will automatically be cancelled, and the deposit will be retained.

    If you do not wish to make a pre order please let us know ASAP your deposit payments will be used towards a bar tab and deducted from the bill on the evening with any remaining balance is to be settled at the end of your visit. Alternatively, you can use your deposit as a food or drinks pre order.

    A 12.5% service charge will be added to all final group bills, this does not form part of any applicable minimum spend and may be removed from the bill total if requested.

    Cancellations

    For cancellations less than 16 days from the booking date only 50% of the deposit will be refunded. Please note that the remaining deposit amount cannot be used as part payment for another event.

    If you cancel your booking less than 7 days before the booking date the whole deposit will be retained.

    If you have any questions or if there is anything else I can help you with at all please do not hesitate to get in touch!

    Please note that all our areas are a mixture of seating and standing. We aim to seat as many people as possible but we cannot guarantee that the whole group will have seats. We require 2 weeks notice of cancellation for a full refund over December.

  • If you’ve purchased a ticket to one of our events (Brunch, Rum Tastings), please check carefully the Terms and conditions on the ticket before you arrive.

    We prohibit any onwards ticket resales without prior authorization from our management team

    We don’t offer any ticket refunds unless the event is cancelled.

    In the case of a no-show, a ticket refund will not be issued.

  • We follow government guidance for our protocols to ensure our guests and teams are as safe as possible against COVID. Therefore, your booking will be subject to the government guidelines on the day of your booking.

    If you or one of your parties tests positive for Covid 19 and is unable to attend on your scheduled party date, we will not be able to refund any per-head deposits made in advance, however, if you request, we will do our best to rebook your party at a later date so all those invited can attend.

    In the event of a national or regional lockdown preventing us from opening, if this announcement is made outside of 28 days of your booking date, we will offer to return any deposits payments you have made in advance. However, if a lockdown is announced within 28 days of the date of your booking, we would appreciate your support by agreeing to rebook your party at a later date, with us retaining your deposit.
